I've been a Kdrama viewer for so many years now and a lot of people actually ask me for recommendations on what series they should watch.
I decided to make monthly recommendations when the lock down started since a lot of people were instructed to stay home and stay safe from the pandemic.

I've had a lot of free time in my hands since the day I resigned from the corporate world. I've been enjoying it a lot and I've got to experience a lot of things, old and new, in a better mood. No pressure of work on the next day and no more calls from different people asking about bank related stuff. Although I still get some calls occasionally but not that often as compared to before.
When Cornballs' cousin came home from the states we enjoyed a few road trips together before they flew back. One of my favorite adventures with them turned out to be food trips.
I also experienced the Jacuzzi for the very first time and it was so relaxing. The overlooking view of Davao City made the experience extra wonderful! I think around 4-6 PM would be the best time to visit the place to get a glimpse of it both daytime and nighttime.

I wish we could have spent a little more time there and enjoyed some food. Surely, we will visit again soon and bring more friends here.
You can book your visits or overnight stay on their Facebook Page: https://www.facebook.com/HiddenGardenJacuzziHill/
Do you have new discoveries in the city? Please let me know. I would love to try them too!
Let me tell you the story about the day we surprised our mom at a 5 star hotel in Davao City.
How did we pull it off? We scheduled it ahead of time so we can be sure that she wasn't expecting it. A few weeks before her actual birthday we booked a room via Agoda. It was on sale and we used my brother's Agoda cash too. So, it was super sulit and cheap.
I then messaged Marco Polo to ask permission if it was okay to set up balloons and stuff in the room. They gladly agreed and even gave my mother a complimentary cake.
My sister was in charge of distracting my mother while Cornballs and I were preparing at the hotel room. We brought the cake, cupcakes and balloons all the way from our hometown - Kidapawan.
It wasn't easy but we gladly pulled it off and made the most out of our stay.
It was lovely experience indeed.
After a quick dinner at the hotel room, I went out again to see my good friends. We ate at Blah Blah Blah and had milk tea at Serenitea.
To get the whole feels of this full loaded day of mine please watch the video. Don't forget to like and subscribe to my Youtube channel as well. Until the next story, ciao!

I was invited by my good friend Ma'am Apy to join their celebration in an exclusive place in Samal Island. Just a few minutes away from Davao City through the Sasa wharf. Upon arriving at the island, you have to travel an hour or so to get to the resort. We just followed the map in waze. The roads are a little bit challenging so I suggest you bring the big cars when you plan on bringing your own ride.
I've been seeing posts about this place on social media and when we arrived at the place, it did not disappoint. If you want to unplug from the internet this is the place to be. Signal is a little bit weak. Hence, you have a lot of time to bond with whoever you're with.
The beach house has a fully equipped kitchen. You can buy your own food and cook your own meals there. No worries, there's no corkage. Plus, the caretakers of the place can assist you. You may also buy fresh produce at a local market nearby. We had some good food! Everything was so good. Credits to our chefs. Haha!
The rooms are super spacious. I think there are a total of 3 bed rooms. Maximum capacity of 30-35 guests. That's a lot for 3 bedrooms right? You might wanna watch the video so you can see how they set up the place to accommodate this much. It's also fully air conditioned.

My favorite part of the resort would be the beach front. It's so serene. The fine white sand, the blue sea, and the cute doggos... Aaah... There are almost no people on the same shore you're in. A couple of locals may pass by but still the ambiance is perfect for chilling. The waves are just calm and not too strong. I didn't really take a swim. I just watched them. I wasn't confident because I don't know how to swim. FYI Lol.
If you're not a fan of the beach then the pool will do. I thought the pool was heated because the water was warm. I don't know why but I like it anyway.
At night they rented out the karaoke. I think that was the highlight of our night. Just pay 1,500 to rent it for the whole day! We made the most out of it since we started a bit late.
It was such a fun and relaxing trip at the same time. If you want to visit this place too I suggest you message them ahead of time since the place is always fully booked.

If you're from the Philippines you've probably heard of the island of Kalanggaman in social media.
My mother's hometown (Tacloban) was nearby Palompon. When we visited Tacloban we grabbed the chance to visit the famous island.
To get there it took us about 3 hours. We were driving a private car. It may take longer if you're commuting. When you reach Palompon, visit the ecotourism office to get a boat or it's better to book ahead of time since they are limiting the number of boats travelling to Kalanggaman.

Kalanggaman has one of the most beautiful sunsets I've ever witnessed. I love the peace and quiet that you can get from this island. So if you can, an overnight stay would be good. During my first visit there were no available rooms for rent just huts/cottages. We brought our own tent and food. It's best to come prepared especially when your DIY-ing your trip.

If you want to reach the end of the sand bar don't forget to bring your sunblock because the sun loves this island.
Our recent visit was way back 2018 with my cousins. Here's a short video of our trip:

It was worth the visit! The simplicity and serenity of the place was relaxing. I love how the local government limited the number of people entering the island. It makes your visit enjoyable and not worrying about crowded places.
We haven't tried exploring places nearby. Maybe on our next visit. Do you have any suggestions on where to go? Please leave a comment below. I'd be glad to hear about it.
